Emily Levy is a singer and composer with particular interest in voice, sound design and narrative. Her musical influences range from medieval to classical, folk to jazz and the format ranges from solo projects, small and large ensemble, radio soundtrack, theatre and co-creation.

Mella Faye is a multi-award winning writer-director with a passion for celebrating the creative and sensual chaos of the female gaze. She is Artistic Director of Pecho Mama, makers of radical gig-theatre that reclaims the myths from the contemporary female perspective. 

Emily & Mella became friends on the Sound and Music New Voices Programme and Emily invited Mella to work on her verbatim project; Songs of Belonging. Through their work, that project was revealed to be an expression of Emily’s search for a sense of ‘home’ in the years after the death of her beloved brother. With this intimate insight, the pair began to scale the project into Me Without You. With the same story gathering structure at its heart, and an expanded ensemble of actors, dancers, musicians and visual artists, the show remains a tender expression of Emily’s very personal experience.
